West Albany sits in fourth place after the first day of Regionals at Trysting Tree, seven strokes behind first place Willamette and four strokes out of second and qualification for the State Tournament.
“We didn’t have our best stuff today,” coach Matt Boase said. “The boys weren’t happy with how they played, but I was proud of them for grinding it out and staying close enough to have a shot tomorrow.”
Andrew Liles led the Bulldogs with an 83. Grant Moen and Brock Nelson posted 85s for the Bulldogs, and it was Jonah Willard’s 90 that rounded out the scoring.
The Bulldogs will continue play tomorrow hoping to qualify for next week’s state tournament.
